Increasing SERP for directories with Kids Party Finder

Our client, Kids Party Finder, is one such directory and they wanted to do more to boost their subscriber’s presence online. After getting recognised by Dragons Den star Theo Paphitis as the winners of his Small Business Sunday initiative, registrations soared and with 500 member businesses, they needed a full site redevelopment and killer SEO strategy. Updating their directory
As they were existing clients, we knew their current system and developed a deeper understanding of their needs following an initial workshop at our Watford office. With all the information to hand, we created a proposal with timelines and budgets that they approved. This allowed us to start working through prototyping to design an optimal UX in the latest web technologies like the open-source framework, Laravel. We made sure the updated directory was easy to use, responsive and fast. We tested it on multiple browsers, across the backend and with user testing. Then we managed the switchover from old to new. This ensured everything worked perfectly and their subscribers were prepared for the change. But the work didn’t stop there. We needed to secure a new SERP for these updated pages.
Increasing SERP for directories
They are the biggest children’s party suppliers directory in the UK and are growing every day. We aim to support our clients as much as possible and part of that is making sure their websites get the traffic they need. With Laravel as a foundation for all the payments, listings and subscriptions; we kept the front end and content management in WordPress. This is great for SEO and very easy to manage. Our SEO strategy was two-fold: content marketing with social amplification.
We created a hit list and started going after key phrases by creating custom landing pages and optimising existing ones. They’ve also recently launched an evergreen blogging strategy to complement their networking event listings and we’re supporting them with additional backlinks. After our efforts, they now rank 1st for “childrens party suppliers essex” and “childrens party suppliers surrey”, high for “Childrens Party Suppliers Hertfordshire”, “Childrens Parties in Essex” and “Childrens Party suppliers Bedfordshire” and are actively increasing in SERP for more broad terms like “Kids Parties” and “Childrens Parties” too. Our keyword strategy, combined with sharp social media outreach is amplifying their message. In return, that’s bringing fresh traffic to their member’s pages.
These results are great for Kids Party Finder as a brand. But it’s also good for the hundreds of local members who use them as part of their lead generation funnel. Every bit of traffic we generate through SEO -leading to increased SERP- trickles down to the individual suppliers. And this increases their revenues and creates more value for money from their KPF subscription.
