Our Story The Inception

Like most software start-up stories, our founders Thomas Mead and Andrew Ajoodha first met at Kent University in a Computer Science lecture. After graduating in 2005 they decided that they wanted to use their unique skill set to help individuals and companies grow their web presence.

However, being novices in business they spent hours researching the location, marketing and process of their start-up and after hours of discussions Andrew and Tom decided on the name Wirebox.

Where it All Started

The business started in the loft of Andrew's house and swiftly moved to Tom's converted garage.

At this time the web and digital industry were still in their early infancy and the majority of the software was written for the desktop rather than the web, an obvious change in culture from today's mass adoption of cloud based services.

Innovation and ideas were key drivers of the Wirebox proposition and the fact the company was still in its early days meant that they could be flexible to match their clients requirements.

For example, Wirebox have always been keen adopters of building web based software that wasn't restricted to desktop use. It was this alternative approach that clients loved and innovation immediately became synonymous with the company.

Lots of Networking

As any small to medium sized enterprise will know, networking is probably the most important way of developing long lasting relationships. Wirebox have been fortunate enough to work on a variety of different projects all of which have introduced some great strategic partnerships in Design, IT Support and Hosting that are still key contributors to this day.

Where we are Today

Ambition has and always will be the driving force behind the company. The team have now moved to a larger serviced office in Watford and the next target is to open another satellite office in central London soon.

We have developed key strategic partnerships with some excellent agencies and clients, with the majority of our business coming through referrals.

The development team continues to grow with two new recruits brought on to solely focus on the increase in demand for mobile applications and software.

The Digital Industry continues to change and evolve but Wirebox ethics remains the same. After such an exciting journey so far it's hard to forget where it all started.
