Inaugural member of the Watford Business Pledge
Last night, we attended the first Watford Business Pledge Celebration Event at the Leonardo Hotel. Our founder, Andrew Ajoodha, was delighted to receive a framed certificate from the Elected Mayor of Watford, Peter Taylor, and network with the 13 other local businesses that are dedicated to being socially responsible while championing Watford.
“It’s incredible to be admitted into Watford Business Pledge membership and an honour to accept this certificate on behalf of our team,” said Andrew Ajoodha, Wirebox Founder. “Running a locally-focused and responsible business is really important to us and this pledge perfectly aligns with all our values.”
About Wirebox from Watford Council
Assessors from Watford Council said we provided “great examples of recruiting and retaining a local workforce and considering candidates from diverse backgrounds in the recruitment process. [We also showed] a clear commitment to staff development and training. Excellent to see that supporting local schools has led to apprenticeships and permanent employment, and the development programme sounds fantastic. [We also provided] some really good examples of using local suppliers. Being ahead of the curve with environmental sustainability adaptations is definitely worthwhile! And great to see this has already been implemented to supply chains, along with offering your suppliers support to this too and showing them the process you went through.”
What Business Brainbox had to say
Business Brainbox assessors noted that “Wirebox Ltd has demonstrated a strong commitment to the principles of the Watford Business Pledge. Their ethical employment policies, community involvement, and sustainability practices set a high standard for businesses in the area. The company has a proactive approach to environmental responsibility, ensuring carbon reduction, supplier sustainability assessments, and employee incentives for eco-friendly behaviour.”
