Last week on the 18th March, Ryan Taylor & Rob Arnold from the Wirebox team swapped their screens for spades and headed to The Grove with other Watford and West Herts Chamber members for a tree planting morning.
They joined a group of local businesses to plant a bank of trees as part of a Chamber event that was as much about community as it was about getting muddy. There’s something genuinely satisfying about doing something with a tangible, lasting impact whilst building out local connections.
And those trees will still be standing long after any project goes live (Ryan asked to include a shameless plug to our case studies).
Rob spent the majority of his time taking some amazing images and recording some great footage whilst Ryan did most of the digging, but that’s fine – He’s not great with a camera! One of the best parts is that the sun was shining without a cloud in the sky. It was a perfect day for it:

Beyond the planting itself, it was a great morning of community. Working alongside other local Hertfordshire businesses in an outdoor setting, rather than a conference room, made for easy, natural conversation. It’s the kind of networking that doesn’t feel like networking. And finishing up with a good lunch at The Grove was a very welcome bonus.
It’s exactly why we value being part of the Chamber. Events like this go well beyond the standard room-full-of-name-badges format, and that matters.
We’re always looking to stay involved locally, so if you want to keep up with what we’re getting up to, give us a follow on socials. More to come throughout the year.
