Discover how Wirebox digitally transformed Motability Scheme Live.

The Challenge_

In early 2024, Wirebox was approached by Rapiergroup, an award winning events agency to work with their client Motability Operations to help develop the digital infrastructure for their 2025 events, Motability Scheme Live.

Drawing on Rapiergroup’s extensive event management experience, meticulous event UX planning, and strategic oversight, the project thrived on a foundation of true collaboration. By aligning Rapiergroup’s deep understanding of live event dynamics with the innovative software development expertise of Wirebox, both teams worked in harmony to streamline and simplify the attendee journey.

Motability Scheme Live is a series of events held across the UK.

This included:

• Websites to promote and give information before, during and after the events
• Apple and Android apps to promote and give information before, during and after the events
• Digital test driving booking system

Our Solution_

The Motability Scheme Live event had many different elements to communicate to their visitors.

Previously, systems were developed in isolation meaning content was duplicated and managing data became a long and cumbersome task.

Wirebox was to develop a centralised system which was able to distribute the information on different platforms.

Centralised Content System

Motability Scheme Live enables disabled people to explore various vehicles, scooters, and powered wheelchairs available through the scheme, participate in test drives, and speak with experts and partners. Visitors need to see what is available and having this update in realtime was critical to ensure the system worked.

The system allowed all content to be added to each event and have it distributed to the various display channels.

Website

All vehicles available to view or test drive were displayed on site, users could filter by manufacturer and features like engine type to find the cars they wanted to see and drive.

The feed of vehicles was made available via an API feed of vehicles from the head CMS. Separating the backend content from the frontend allowed the website to display this content quickly. 

App

The app mirrored the website with additional features such as

Notifications

Messages could be sent before, during and after the event to notify customers on any motability subject.

Map

A dynamic event map was built and populated from the CMS to show users where all vehicles and vendors were at the event. 

Getting more users driving at the Events_

One of the big aims of the event is to get users test driving and filling all driving slots.

To be able to allow users to drive, involves a lot of due diligence, like checking driving licences, signing of declaration forms.

We delivered:

• A faster way to get users signed up while waiting to pick slots
• Allow users to view the cars before the event, so they know the ones they want to drive on the day.
• Visual displays to allow slots to be filled quickly
• Optimised booking screen to see what cars are available with the users preferences.

We continue to support and maintain the Motability Live Scheme platform with:
