National Apprenticeship Week 2022 is the 15th annual week-long celebration of apprenticeships.
Wirebox have taken on many apprentices and Dean Russell MP for Watford wanted to speak to a company to see how apprenticeships have helped the organisation and the benefits for the apprentices.
Dean Russell hasn’t visited Wirebox previously but had heard about our bespoke software development and has experience in the creative industry, even publishing a book on How to win a Pitch.
How has Wirebox embraced Apprenticeships
Andrew Ajoodha, the founder of Wirebox explained how Wirebox has utilised the Apprenticeship scheme for a number of years and the benefits Wirebox received using the scheme.
The apprentice scheme was an opportunity to have interested candidates work and study with a training provider. Wirebox would train and work closely with the training provider to allow the apprentice to learn and pick up the skills and experience to work in this industry.
Has the apprenticeship scheme helped Wirebox
Dean Russell asked Wirebox if there was any hesitation in hiring apprenticeships in terms of the training needed.
Training the apprentice takes time and is an investment to the business. Like with any new hire, they need to be right for the business. If a candidate has the skills and enthusiasm for the type of work, the chances are they will be a good fit.
The majority of candidates have limited experience, but you can notice certain traits that provide a good indication if the work would suit them.
Wirebox has hired many apprentices, some of which have worked for many years beyond their apprenticeship and are still valued members of our team. For any business which has the time to invest and are interested in helping candidates get into their industry, we would highly recommend the schemes on offer.
Ryan Taylor 4th Year
Ryan Taylor was one of our first sales and marketing apprentices. 11th February 2022, marked 4 years at Wirebox.
Dean Russell presented Ryan with a token of our appreciation.
Ryan has been a great apprentice, earning a distinction with the academy iSales in Watford.
Ryan is a leading member of the sales and marketing team and works on some big projects and clients, such as Kidney Care and Tibbetts.
